The ultimate interval training program! This workshop begins with a thorough breakdown of the physiological benefits received through interval training and cross-training. Once established, Christi will then review the musculature of the body and the three planes of movement for proper muscle balance and exercise application. Lastly, using her "Mix & Match" techniques, Christi will teach you how to implement this knowledge to create a safe and effective interval training program for your clients and class members.
Christi talked about the importance of "alternating short bursts of intense activity with short segments of less intense activity" in her session about creating an interval group fitness class.
Before designing any type of interval class, she stresses that each instructor ask "What is the goal of your class?" Is it to increase the cardiovascular abilities of the members or to increase the caloric expenditure during class.
