This original lecture reviews recently published research documenting some unique female training advantages. Gender differences in fat metabolism, muscle fiber changes, muscle strength, muscular endurance, body composition, hormones, and other physiological factors are discussed. Resistance and aerobic training program designs, specifically for women, are presented.
