Presenter Spotlight: Jackie Camborde

Jackie Camborde is the owner of Santé Studio in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She is a Master Trainer for Resist-a-Ball and Gliding™ and a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. Her DVD, Real World Yoga, has been a huge hit. Jackie's philosophy is that exercise is for everyone and should be fun - because if it's not fun, why bother? Certifications include ACE and AFAA.

One of the reasons Jackie loves FitnessFest is because of the size and 'casual feel' of the event. "The roster of presenters is always world class, but the event has been able to maintain a very homegrown atmosphere," she says. When she's here, she loves meeting up with like-minded fitness professionals. "I never tire of hearing about other people's businesses, ideas and passion for this industry!"

Of course, she loves to shop, too. "It's great therapy!" she exclaims. Jackie will also have a booth at the expo, so be sure to stop by to check it out.

One thing you may not know about Jackie is that she loves taking her 4-year-old to the park to play. And when she's at conventions, she always walks more than when she's at home (in New Mexico). "Just getting from the hotel to the venue can be a hike. I try to take at least one movement class a day during a multi-day show, to shake up my brain and get me sweating."

When asked what advice she would give to the attendees to enhance their overall conference experience this year, she suggested that instructors and trainers take time to process and absorb the information to avoid burnout. "Grab a cup of tea outside the venue (easy in the gorgeous AZ weather) and go through the sessions you attended. Make some personal notes in the margins of your handouts to help you better recall what you learned."

Good advice! So if you do need a little break, just find Jackie and share a little down time!

This year at Fitness Fest, Jackie will be presenting the following sessions:
Dance, Dance Evolution Goes Hip Hop
ROLLogic-Foam Roller
Real World Yoga
