Presenter Spotlight: Fabio Comana

Fabio Comana, MA; MS, is an exercise physiologist and research scientist for ACE. He currently teaches exercise science and nutrition at UC San Diego and San Diego State. Prior to ACE, he was a head, strength, and conditioning coach, and has opened/managed clubs for Club One. He presents nationally and internationally, and is featured repeatedly on television, radio, internet, and in print publications.\

This is Fabio's first time presenting at Fitness Fest and we are so delighted to have him come to Arizona. Usually when he presents at conferences he prefers attending different sessions that interest him. "I [also] enjoy browsing the exhibit floor, networking and talking to attendees and sharing ideas together," he notes.

When his schedule permits and he has some extra time, he usually likes exploring the cities in which he presents. But fortunately, he's been to Tucson and Phoenix several times, so he doesn't plan on doing much site-seeing.

He doesn't expect on staying inactive, though. When he's not busy presenting, he usually "workouts in the hotel's gym facilities (if they are decent) or take an activity class." (He'll have plenty of activities to choose from at Fitness Fest this year. I wonder if he's ever done Zumba?)

During his downtime between session, he tries to catch up on work or join his colleagues for dinner. I'm sure he and Len Kravitz will happily talk exercise science all night...

This year Fabio will be presenting four sessions at Fitness Fest:
Targeting the Core - Learn the Five Core-training Stage Progressions,
Straighten Before Strengthening- Postural Assessments,
Reaching New Lengths - Designing Effective Flexibility Programs,
Tipping the Scales - Nutritional Assessments

He hopes this year the attendees find his sessions useful and informative. "Please ask questions during and after the sessions," he encourages.
